Joining Forces

If you’re a sole practitioner, professional speaker, trainer or consultant, you can double your income and hugely enhance your public profile by doing joint ventures with some other association or individual.

You’ll end up with more market visibility and also expand your horizons.

Here are some points to consider whether an affiliation is right for you:

1. The new offer allows you to increase your fee

2. You’re exposed to a totally new market

3. You become more credible with the affiliation

4. You add to your program with your affiliation

5. You lessen the risk of losing money on your venture

6. You are now have connections in an entirely new market

If the affiliation doesn’t offer you more than one of the above benefits, don’t do it. It simply doesn’t provide you with enough business benefits to be worth it.

One of my first collaborations was with Susan Sweeney, author of 101 Ways to Market your Website and now a CSP and Hall of Fame speaker (who at the time had no idea anyone got paid for speaking!). Susan and I wrote a (now outdated) book called Going for Gold! A Complete Marketing Strategy for Speakers. Susan did the online marketing section, I did the offline section. It was a great affiliation.

Do you have an idea bouncing around? Is there a book chapter or an article on your computer? Why not seek out people who specialize in your topic or a complementary one to see if you could participate in their next book or offer your article as a freebie for their next book launch. Even something small such as writing a review of a colleague’s book on Amazon helps to circulate your name and website.

I’ve written 5 books and contributed chapters to ten others and donated many free e-books to book launches and campaigns to boost subscriptions (which also boosted mine).

Ladies Who Launch asked me to conduct a webinar which they would market to their subscribers and I said yes immediately. I got lots of attendees, new subscribers and connections to people I never would have reached on my own. It was great.

Look for the right joint ventures for you in order to reach entirely new markets. Make sure the person you’re planning to join forces with is reputable and highly credible.

Let me know of your joint ventures or affiliations and I’ll publish the best one. It will also be included in my next book, The Seven Figure Speaker – not yet written but definitely tugging at my sleeve!

Why The “inside Stuff” Is Important For Coaches

Posted in Coaching on May 19th, 2010 by Wade Salem – Be the first to comment

Almost every single issue we deal with today is a character issue-good or bad. In today’s world we hire people for skills and then fire them because of character. The same can be said of sports. Today, talent is not enough because skill without character just develops mediocrity. Combining character and skill develop excellence. It’s time to focus on the intangibles, the “inside stuff,” which makes the difference in our players’ performance, and in their lives.

Character comes from a Greek word meaning “to scratch or engrave”; “the qualities or features that comprise and distinguish an individual.” Most coaches realize the significance of developing character but lack a game plan and practical tools on how to teach it to their players. Remember, a sport doesn’t develop character, a coach develops character. Take action this season to “scratch and engrave” into your players the character qualities needed to improve attitude, performance and heart.

This week, take action and think of two character qualities or CQs’ like perseverance and optimism that you would want your players to demonstrate on and off the field or court. Look up, write down and take these definitions with you to practice. Initiate your practice by explaining each CQ and its definition. Explain to your players where the game demands them to demonstrate that CQ. Then recognize it, respond to it and reward it. Take the opportunity to also educate them on how to find situations outside of sports to apply these same character qualities to personal and family life scenarios.

As coaches, we need to remind ourselves that behind every skill we are teaching there are character qualities that can be developed to yield the performance we are looking for. Be proactive in recognizing and matching character qualities to athletic abilities. Help your team understand how to apply them to both sporting events and personal life situations.

There is a high school coach who started to focus on the “Inside Stuff” and incorporate character into his coaching curriculum. The following season, his team went undefeated and advanced deep into the playoffs but fell one game short of the State Championship game. At the banquet a very thankful parent stood up and said to the coaching staff, “We gave you 48 boys and you returned 48 young men.” The Coaches realized that they were responsible for transforming lives through sports. This coach and his staff realized significance of coaching the “Inside Stuff.

Student Disruptive Behavior: When To See The Guidance Counselor

Posted in Coaching on May 4th, 2010 by Jurinsthea Smith – Be the first to comment

Student disruptive behavior is normal in most classroom settings. We know for a fact that students tend to be noisy and disturbing at some point in time. As teachers, we must understand them and, as much as possible, correct them of their current behavior.

As a secondary parent to these children, we must be the first ones to impose proper discipline in the classroom. Since we know the students firsthand and we interact with them in the class, we have the sole right to be the first intermediary member to regulate their bad actions in class. We all know that there is a school guidance counselor who is responsible in correcting behaviors from disruptive students; but we can’t just go to him or her on a weekly basis to report the students! Thus, here are some areas that must be reflected as to when you should really see the counselor.

1. If you can not contain the student. The first thing a teacher can do to any disruptive student is to discipline them in a subtle manner. You have to find ways and means and maximizing all possible disciplinary measures that you know. In the meantime, if you still see no changes on the end of the student, then it is time to transfer the issue to the hands of the guidance counselor. At least when you talk to an advisor at that time, you will be able to explain to him the things you’ve done to try to help the student but with no avail on your end.

2. If the student disruptive behavior does not change given a disciplinary action. It is a teacher’s responsibility to impose discipline in class. But if you notice there have been no changes on the student’s end, it is a clear indication that this individual doesn’t respect and follow you anymore. If they fail to recognize your authority, it is time to accelerate the matter to a more distinct position like the guidance counselor.

Asking for help from the counselor does not mean that you are an incompetent teacher and knows nothing how to discipline. As a matter of fact, it is suggested that you consult them from time to time because it is their responsibility to help students to the right track. But before addressing them, impose the preliminary steps and exhaust all possible means and ways. The student disruptive behavior, though can’t be easy and immediate to solve but nonetheless with the right people and strategies can be corrected.

Are in you the lookout for student disruptive behavior? Then read http://www.teachersbusiness.com/teachersmakemoneyonline on how to solve it.

Ways New Virtual Holistic Center Provides Life Coaching To Help You Achieve Goals

Posted in Coaching on May 2nd, 2010 by Kelly Blomquist – Be the first to comment

Like most people, you are most likely concerned with your own health. You can maximize your chances of living to a ripe old age. By taking a virtual holistic center tour, you can find out about activities to enrich your life. Begin with healthy eating and an exercise regiment to maintain your health as best you can.

A Virtual Holistic Center provides life coaching to help you achieve goals. Your goals will depend on both what you want and what you know you need to feel good. The many options may or may not include chiropractic care, massage and nutrition. Chiropractic care is a non-invasive, drug free and natural way to help the whole person gain or maintain good health.

Your first appointment may follow a standard routine. It is an interview to gather information about your condition. Consultation, a physical examination and possibly a request that you to bring lab results and x-rays for him or her to see. You may be asked about possible stress in your life, the type of work you do and how much you exercise, if at all. Chiropractic doctors pay close attention to the spine.

As your health condition is evaluated, the chiropractor will attempt to deal with the origin of the pain you have. It often originates in the spine. Many people suffer from migraine headaches. They miss work days and rely on strong pain killers to cope. When a misaligned vertebra is pressing against the nerve is causing the pain, the alignment is indicated.

A misalignment can be mild or severe. It can be caused or made worse by emotional, physical chemical or metal factors. The chiropractor may attend to the subluxation by making an adjustment. Years ago, this adjustment was referred to as cracking the back. It was called that because of a cracking sound made by the release of gas during the adjustment. It sounded like a crack. The patient might experience slight discomfort for a brief time after the adjustment.

There are five things that cause or worsen a subluxation. One or more vertebrae may be immobile, degenerative or misaligned. The bones (vertebrae) might grow narrow and aggravate the nerves contained within the spinal cord. Nerve transmissions may have their normal flow partially obstructed. The muscles surrounding the spinal column may spasm. The tendons and ligaments can scar or stretch out as the condition worsens. This may bring on a chemical reaction that inflames the area more than it was.

You may require physical therapy after an adjustment to maintain the corrected alignment. Exercises that strengthen or stretch the muscles may be helpful. Massage may be a good addition to your plan. The continuation of adjustments to maintain the corrected state are described in a Virtual Holistic Center. Maintenance of the alignment will prevent a return of the subluxation.

Good health is important to everyone, but taking the time to practice it can be difficult for busy people. For more information about a total wellness regimen, visit the Virtual Holistic Center online at http://www.allaboutnowllc.com .

Something is missing. You don’t communicate and it is unclear just how your marriage deteriorated to this condition. You know something has to change. If it doesn’t, your marriage or relationship may come to an end. A relationship coach may be able to help.

You value your marriage partner and want to keep the relationship intact. You know you still love her? Does she still love you? You can’t, however, communicate with each other as you once did. But, are you ready to give up and let the relationship slip away? There must be some reason that things are in such a deplorable state.

If it is important you will want to salvage the marriage. Since you know how to prioritize at work, why not apply those skills to your personal life? Focus on the things you used to enjoy together. Get away from the house and kids once a week. Date each other again. Agree on a dinner out. No fast food joint, but a nice sit-down dinner. Sit and stare into each others’ eyes. Don’t talk about anything but each other.

Stare into each others’ eyes over dessert and coffee, then continue your important conversation. Keep communicating. Maybe make the commitment to go together and talk to a counselor who can help you get through this difficult time in your marriage. Never be afraid to let your partner see how important it is to you to continue on together. Emphasize your hope that you will stay together and be happy once again.

Make the marriage work again, not only to make the two of you happy, but the kids will be fortunate to grow up in a two-parent household. They don’t want to see one of you leave home. Keep them happy along with you and try hard one more time before giving up on a future together.

Can You Benefit From A Relationship Coach?

Posted in Coaching on April 28th, 2010 by Andreas Paschar – Be the first to comment

If your marriage is not providing you with the stability and happiness you expect, perhaps counseling with a relationship coach will help. This does not indicate it is all your partner’s fault or all your fault. Each of your will have to accept part of the responsibility. One person alone cannot make or break a relationship.

Perhaps you didn’t know that the main reason people end a relationship is not for a lack of loving one another. It is simply that they are not communicating adequately to provide what each partner needs from the relationship. It is not even because one person does all the giving and the other all the taking.

Whatever it is that makes both husband and wife happy, is successful. It is different for every couple. You must both desire to improve a failing marriage. If only one partner wants it to last, it will not. If you don’t work together for improvement, it will be doomed. The party who won’t work with the other person is saying, in effect, he or she doesn’t want to save the marriage.

According to educated counselors who make a living helping people improve relationships, if you don’t both work to improve it, it will eventually come to an end. This can involve a physical separating, or living together in an emotionally bereft togetherness. People can eat a meal together without either of them enjoying the food that is served.

You are only able to change your own actions and talking about what is wrong is a good start. Take one thing that the other person objects to and be willing to give in to his or her way of thinking. Do not try to control the other person’s actions. If your action makes him or her feel better, perhaps he or she will try to make you happy by changing one of his or her actions to please you. But one person must start the ball rolling.

If your partner realizes you care enough to try to change yourself, he may appreciate it to the point of giving in about something if he knows it will please you. You can find out through experience. If one thing doesn’t work, try something else. Don’t waste time wringing your hands crying woe is me. It does not help any situation.

Being advised by a relationship coach does not indicate you are deficient compared to other people. They have problems just as you do. You just don’t notice. Now the counselor has no magic, only advice. You won’t be able to change your partner’s actions. You only have control over your own. Giving in may not sound logical. But being right may be a sad state if it costs you a relationship that once made you very happy. Isn’t it worth allowing yourself to be wrong to accomplish that?

Get more information and details about the benefits and advantages of working with an experienced relationship coach today! When you visit http://www.amberthelovecoach.com you will find the tools you need to begin building a healthy and loving relationship now!
